Struggling with High Blood Pressure

Be honest, none of us enjoy being on a diet plan. However, supporting the loved ones is essential, especially if they are diagnosed with a condition like high blood pressure.

Let me share one particular change that we made to our daily routine with my husband in order to reduce his high blood pressure.

When we started, his blood pressure level was 157 over 95 quite high right? but after six months, eating better and making changes, his last reading was 128 over 89, and I felt over the moon and his doctor reduced to half his daily pill.

We achieved that together, some days were difficult and we were desperate for a burger or ice cream. I have to confessed that we reserved one day per week for a reward (dessert) to compensate the hard work during the week. We started with simple shopping changes such as replacing cow milk.

His dietitian recommended almond milk, the brand that we use is ALPRO  this particular unsweetened almond milk is low in fat and sugar-free, also contains vitamin E and antioxidants. I highly recommend replacing the animal milk, it will have a positive impact on reducing your blood pressure.

If you don’t find this particular brand, you can make fresh almond milk at home, and use the almond milk to prepare smoothies, coffee or eat your favorite cereal, find the recipe below.

First, place a cup of almonds in a bowl and add enough water to cover, soak the almonds in water for 24 – 48 hours. Drain and rinse the almonds, then add the almonds and 2 cups of water together in a blender and blend for 2 minutes.

Use a cheesecloth and strain out the almonds, press out the almond milk from the meal (through the cheesecloth). And poured into a glass bottle, use the almond milk for about 4 days.

Hopefully, this tip can help you as well to reduce high blood pressure. Please share your comments and Follow me on THEPOCKETBOOK.blog
